Azuro is recruiting a Tax Specialist Life Insurance in Brussels.
What are you going to do
As a tax specialist you will perform the following tasks in this position:
- You follow developments in Belgian tax legislation in the field of life insurance. You report internally on changes in legislation and regulations and you check whether internal products, systems and operational processes are in line.
- As a tax expert you give advice to the operational services department, projectmanagement and management.
- You regularly check the product tax processes and you assess whether they are effective within the organization. If necessary, you take the initiative to adjust the processes where necessary.
- You ensure that the work instructions of the operational teams are correct so that they are able to perform the tax calculations correctly.
- You develop internal product tax training programs for the operational teams to ensure that product tax knowledge is embedded in the company at all times. You also give the actual training to the internal employees yourself. You work out training programs and you ensure that the information in the training courses is up-to-date. You ensure that the tax training program meets the requirements set by the FSMA.
- You represent the insurance company externally and you are the point of contact for tax-related questions to external parties such as the tax authorities and Assuralia.
- Finally, you will also be responsible for Life taxation with regard to the Luxembourg and Dutch activities. You will work with external consultants with knowledge of Dutch and Luxembourg taxation.

What we expect
- You are in possession of a master's degree in legal, finance or economics, with or without an extra degree in Taxation.
- You have at least 5 years of relevant experience in taxation of life insurance products.
- Your native language is French or Dutch, with excellent oral and written command of English.
- You have strong written and good communication skills and find it easy to make contacts.
- You are solution-oriented and are good at analyzing and summarizing information.
- You contribute to achieving the business goals by being energetic, enthusiastic and involved in everything you do.
- You enjoy working autonomously and yet you show team spirit.
- You have the ability to adapt in a changing environment.
- You know how to work with standard MS Office tools.
